The journalist who reported for Lotiko Radio, a community radio, was shot in the head and killed in the village of Sandana about 600 kilometers south east of the Capital, N’Djemena while covering a conflict between local headers and farmers. He was among 11 people who were killed that day. According to the Union des Journalistes Tchadiens, (UJT) Djai- Loramdji was targeted and killed because of his reporting.
