10. Struggle for Collective Agreement

Proposed: IFJ Affiliates in Greece: JUADN, ADNJM-T, UPPJ, PEJU

The 24th IFJ Congress, meeting in Seoul on June 11th to June 15th, 200,

Notes that for the past two months Greek journalists and all Media Workers have undertaken a tough struggle with strikes in order to sign a satisfactory working agreement;

notes that this struggle will continue with undiminishing strength until final victory,

The Congress

1) Believes that the Greek colleagues struggle is of extreme importance to working rights, in claiming satisfactory pay, in securing human working conditions to protect authors’ rights; in defending press freedom; in safeguarding pluralism and the right to information of the Greek people;

2) strongly raises support to the Greek fair struggle.
