1. Trade Union Relations

Proposed: Executive Committee

The 24th Congress of the IFJ, meeting in Seoul from June 11-16th 2001,

noting the reports regarding co-operation with other trade unions,

instructs the Executive Committee to strengthen links with the wider trade union movement aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of IFJ activities.

In particular, Congress seeks stronger working relations with the International Confederation of Free Trade Union and its regional organisations, the European Trades Union Confederation and other federations in the Global Unions movement.

Congress calls for stronger links and more practical co-operation with international federations of trades unions working closely on social and professional issues of concern to journalists and their unions including, Union Network International, the Public Service International and the Education International.
