The Climate Action Team (CAT) Working Group of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has signed a letter issued by world groups to condemn the announcement of Sultan Al Jaber, the chief executive of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), as president of COP28 which will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in November 2023.

The Yemeni Journalists' Syndicate (YJS) has detailed 22 violations of press freedom in the country between July and September 2020, ranging from arrests and threats to assaults and banned coverage. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) joins its affiliate in warning warring parties against intolerable attacks against the press.
