Bettina worked at the IFJ from 1990 until 2002 where she set up and led the IFJ's projects division. She was responsible for the IFJ's global programme on media development and capacity-building for journalists' organisations.
She also played a significant role in developing IFJ gender equality work.
Bettina was a true leader and a fierce defender of press freedom. Her enthusiasm and zest for life will be truly missed .
