Promoting diversity in audiovisual media - Africa

Taking a regional approach, a specific programme has been launched in Southern Africa in 2002-2003 to produce training and resource materials on diversity issues for broadcast journalists which will help to improve professional standards and to challenge existing stereotypes in television.


This initiative includes the following activities:


  • Support to public broadcasting

  • Production of materials on reporting diversity


    • The IFJ is also supporting the development of public service broadcasting in Western and Eastern Africa.
