Luis Enrique Ramírez Ramos

 

The founder of the news site Fuentes Fidedignas and the columnist for the portal El Debate was abducted in the vicinity of his home in Sinaloa on 4 May by armed men and his lifeless body found the following day, according to local sources quoted by the SNRP, an IFJ affiliate. The Sinaloa State Attorney General's Office reportedly said that the cause of Ramos’ death was traumatic brain injury from multiple blows.

Luis Enrique Ramírez Ramos had worked for the newspapers El Universal, La Jornada and Milenio. During his career, he received 14 state and national journalism awards. He also wrote the books "La muela del juicio" and "La ingobernable: Encuentros y desencuentros con Elena Garro".
