IFJ supports 'Journalism at risk' campaign aiming to strengthen Colombian journalists' protection

The International Federation of Journalists (FIP) joins its Colombian affiliate FECOLPER (Federación Colombiana de Periodistas) in demanding an efficient system to protect journalists through the campaign 'Journalism at risk', launched today and aiming to report the situation of journalists' protection in Colombia. FECOLPER and other national media associations have denounced corruption and other structural problems within Unidad Nacional de Protección (UNP), in charge of the Program to Protect Journalists, which is turning 15 years in 2015.  These organisations are going to present some documents in response to the UNP´s program aiming to guarantee a comprehensive protection based on justice, effectiveness and confidence so the Colombian State takes the best steps to protect journalists at risk.
