On 17 February, the Federation of Colombian Journalists (FECOLPER), an IFJ affiliate, and another organisation called ‘La defensoría del Pueblo de Colombia’ (defence of the Colombian people) condemned threats from criminal groups and local authorities in Barranquilla and Yopa against journalists, human rights defenders and syndicalists to leave these areas within 72 hours or risk losing their lives.
