A factsheet released today by The Nordic Information Centre for Media and Communications Research (NORDICOM) shows clear gender leadership gap in the media industry globally. Nordicom’s analysis of the world’s 100 largest media corporations highlights a huge gender leadership gap, with only 6 women CEOs out of the 100 companies. In addition, women hold 17% of top management positions in the media and make 24% of boards of directors. The companies with the highest women percentage amongst their top management are 21st Century Fox, Bertelsmann and Cox Enterprise. The ones that are ranked at the bottom are AT&T, Sony Entertainment, Altice Group, Viacom, Tencent Holdings, Liberty Media and Dish Network Corporation. The factsheet was based on the list of top 100 international media corporations published by the Institute of Media and Communications Policy in Germany. For more information click widthhere.
