Füsun Erdogan was the chief coordinator of radio Özgür Radyo" ("Free Radio") and is imprisoned in Gebze prison near Istanbul since 2006. She is accused of 296 "activities" carried out being "a MLKP [Marxist Leninist Communist party] illegal organization member". She faces a possible life sentence.
Since March 2011 she writes weekly columns for Turkish human rights website Bianet.
Yesterday, she sent a letter to EFJ describing in detail her situation and deteriorating health as direct consequence of her imprisonment.
