Cause of Nepali Journalist’s Death Unclear

 

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) joins its affiliate the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) in its shock and concern regarding the the discovery of the body of journalist Chandan Nepali, Correspondent for Radio Sky in Murbhung, Gulmi in Nepal’s west on September 11, 2012.

 

Nepali had apparently gone missing three days before his body was found at Bhyagute Cliff in Gulmi. Severe damage found to Nepali’s head has raised questions as to the manner of his death.

 

The IFJ joins the FNJ in demanding the Government of Nepal conduct a thorough investigation into ascertaining the cause of Nepali’s death.
