Abdiaziz Mohamud Guled

The 41-year-old Director of Radio Mogadishu was killed in a terrorist attack in Somali capital city. Reports quoted police sources as saying that Guled was killed when a suicide bomber approached Guled as he was entering his car and detonated his device, killing him on the spot. Two people who were with him, Director of Somali National Television Sharmarke Mohamed Warsame and a driver were wounded, with Warsame left in critical condition.

 

The mitlitant group Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the killing of Guled, also known as Abdiariz Afrika, who was known for his denunciation of violent extremism and killings of citizens through his radio and TV programmes.
