The wood is located in the city of Silva Jardim, in a protected area of the Atlantica forest, in Rio de Janeiro.

"The idea was to support the reforestation of a big area once used to raise cattle, but which is now protected by the Association of Mico Leão Dourado - a small golden endangered monkey. The initiative started at the beginning of the year to remember every and each working journalist who died from Covid-19, " said FENAJ General Secretary Beth Costa.

It is joint initiative of FENAJ, ABI - Brazilian Press Association and Associação do Mico Leão Dourado.

Each tree holds a plate with the name of a dead journalist.
