Are you a potential media leader?
The International Women’s Media Foundation provides women journalists around the world with the tools they need to become effective leaders in the news media.

Leaders set the pace and remain calm in a crisis; they look at journalism as a calling and not just a job. By cultivating leadership skills, the IWMF continues to strengthen our vibrant global network of women in the news media and further freedom of the press.

The IWMF, in partnership with The Kazickas Family Foundation and Internews Network, will sponsor a three-day leadership workshop to help women journalists from the former Soviet Republics build skills and prepare to be leaders in the news media.

The workshop will help participants:

• Develop skills that will have an immediate impact on their journalism careers
• Learn key attitudes that all leaders should know
• Identify what distinguishes a media leader
• Learn secrets of success from outstanding women leaders in the media, including women media managers from the region
• Form a regional network of women journalists with ongoing activities
Topics will include critical management issues and new trends in media management, the role of journalists in society, balancing work and private life, working in the “new” media and the perception of women in the former Soviet republics.
