EFJ supports Norwegian media organisations' joint statement regarding photo contracts

The EFJ supports Norwegian journalists unions and media associations common statement calling on Norwegian organisers to make it clear to foreign actors and organisers that the Norwegian media does not accept restrictions on the media's work during events in Norway.

This statement was issued at the occasion of the complete boycott by the Norwegian media of Dolly Parton’s concert in Oslo on 15 March. The management of the American singer presented Norwegian photographers and media with unacceptable photo contracts, which limited the use of photographs to only one time in connection with an article about the concert. The contract proposal banned the photographers/media companies any storage and re-use of the photographic material.
