Building The Capacity Of Media Associations To Assess Regulatory Environments And Strengthen Professional Journalism In The Pacific

This Pacific project aims to build the capacity of media associations to assess media policies and strengthen professional journalism. Stronger media associations will lead to an enhanced capacity to assess, monitor and campaign on improving media regulatory conditions and media literacy.

Key activities:

  • National consultations
  • Assessment reports of the regulatory environment using UNESCO MDIs
  • Research on media violations and challenges to professional reporting
  • Professional journalism training

Location: Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Samoa & Fiji, with online linkage to Tonga and Papua New Guinea
