UNESCO Global Forum on Media and Gender

The IFJ General Secretary, Elisabeth Costa and the EFJ Vice-President Nadia Azhgikhina (who is also the IFJ Gender Coordinator in Russia) attended the UNESCO Global Forum on Media and Gender in Bangkok, Thailand on 2 - 4 December. You can watch the interviews with Costa and Azhgikhina about the Forum and the role of IFJ and EFJ in promoting gender equality in the media. The two-day forum aims to gathers global experts in gender and media who will contribute to a draft framework of action to reduce gender disparities in and through the media. At the end of the two-day conference, UNESCO announced the launch of a Global Alliance on Media and Gender (in which the IFJ is a partner) and a draft framework of action.
