EFJ Guidelines for Fair Creative Competitions

Faced with the increasing challenges in the protection of journalists' authors' rights, the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) developed a set of guidelines for unions and journalists to better secure these rights. The Guidelines for Fair Creative Competitions adopted by the EFJ Steering Committee on 21 October 2010 address the problem of copyright-grabbing contracts imposed by competition organisers. The Guidelines lay down a set of fundamental rules to protect the authors' rights of contestants, including their moral rights and the rights to fair payment for the use of their works.
