The photojournalist was among the 23 people killed at the anti-government protests in Tahrir Square, a Baghdad square which was turned into a focal point for protesters, according to media reports.

Mehana, who had survived reporting on the frontline against the so-called Islamic State, was stabbed in the back while covering the protest, media added quoting his brother.
