The 35-year-old journalist was killed in what authorities beleived to be ‘’ an act of revenge’’ by a policeman Kesavulu had denunced for his involvement in tobacco trafficking in his reporting. The policeman was subsequentely suspended by his superiors and he later organised an ambush with his brother and killed Chenna Kesavulu with a screwdriver, according to police sources quoted in media reports.
