Safety of Journalists in Middle East and Arab World

In one of the world's most dangerous regions for journalists the IFJ is working with local unions and media employers to develop a culture of safety for journalists, journalists unions and media in the region.

The project will build a core network of skilled and resourced safety trainers ready to be deployed to carry out training and advise when any security situation deteriorates

Key Activities:

  • Safety training provided in 6 countries
  • Local safety coordinators developed in Palestine, Iraq and Yemen.
  • Regional conference for establishing in-house safety trainers and protocols.
