The finalists have been chosen from the more than 100 entries submitted to the Prize in South East Asia and were judged by a well respected Jury from around the region. The South East Asia Jury members are:

The winners of the Prize will be announced at the prize giving ceremony in Bali Indonesia on 20 April 2003. The ceremony will be combined with a regional forum focusing on the aims of the Prize.
The IFJ Journalism for Tolerance Prize, promoting tolerance, combating racism and discrimination, will be awarded to journalists in five regions of the world.
In South East Asia, a total prize pool of €3,000 will be awarded for entries in three separate categories: print/on-line, radio and television.
The Prize, supported by the European Union, has been launched at a time when cultural, religious and ethnic differences are increasingly contributing to instability and unrest in many regions of the world.
