UK implements a policy against illegal downloading

In order to decrease the rate of illegal music and film downloading, the UK government will launch a British version of Hadopi, the French law pursuing illegal downloads. The British version will launch before next spring and under the label “Creative Content UK”.

However, the British won’t push this policy as far as their French neighbors have. “Creative Content” will only give warnings but not any sanctions or fines. Therefore “Creative Content” is more of an educational tool that will aim to raise awareness among UK citizens about intellectual property and author’s rights.
