In recent weeks dozens of Iranian journalists working abroad and their family members in Iran have been subjected to severe threats and intimidation by the Iranian security forces and judiciary.
The meeting will review and discuss the issue of state-sponsored legal restrictions, intimidations, and threats directed against critical Iranian journalists working for Persian media outside Iran. The legal, political and international aspects of these threats to the human rights of journalists will be discussed.
A number of journalists who have been subjected to threats will join us and share their stories with IFJ leaders.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 17th at the offices of the IFJ in Brussels.
Journalists interested in participating in the event can contact us and submit their request to attend through the e-mail address (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Applicants should send their full name (Farsi and English) and affiliation, along with an image of their professional ID (if available).
