Some 50 freelance writers at Svenska Dagbladet (SvD) have long been in negotiations with management about their fees. On the same day, Mohammad Abdul Khaleq Al Ghuf, a photojournalist working for Al Rai news agency, lost his life while covering the events in Gaza, according to PJS.

On December 18, the parliament of Maldives passed the Industrial Relations (IR) Bill and the Occupation Safety and Health (OSH) Bill, a significant achievement for workers and unions following over a decade of activism.
