Fairfax Media Australia: Messages of support for striking workers

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) affiliates in Spain, Scandinavia, Russia and the UK and Ireland, among others, have already pledged their solidarity and support for the fight to save jobs and defend quality journalism.

The International Trade Union Confederation has also backed the fight. ITUC General Secretary Sharan Burrow said: “The decision of Fairfax management is wrong and misguided, and the international trade union movement stands with you every step of the way in your campaign to reverse it”.
